Day 2 Range Qualification
8am-6pm (8 hours)
LASD Standardized Course of Fire for Certification
TOTAL Round count: 400 rounds, includes ammo for training drills and qualification
• Target: Qualification: NRA standard B-27 target
• Round Count: Qualification:72 for first gun, primary pistol, and 20 additional rounds for 2nd and or 3rd firearm
Course of Fire:
• 24 rounds fired without time limitation at each of the three specified distances.
• Firing Distance: 3 yards, 5 yards, 7 yards
• Minimum passing score: 70% of rounds fired at each distance (17 of 24 rounds) must score within the 7-ring of the B-27 target.
Other requirements:
• The student shall be required to safely load, unload, and reload their handgun during the course of fire.
NOTE:
Initial Qualification is for one (1) handgun assigned to CCW permit.
You can have a total of 3 handguns assigned to your CCW permit.
YOU MUST qualify with total of 72 rounds as the initial course of fire per handgun on your permit. Total 400 rounds of ammunition for training and qualification.
Additional cost is $50 for each additional pistol, 3 maximum.
EQUIPMENT NEEDED
Your Personal Handgun you will Conceal Carry.
- The Firearm MUST BE REGISTERED TO YOU!
- MUST BRING your registered firearm(s) to class.
- Maximum 3 guns only. MUST BRING ALL GUNS DAY 1 that you want on your CCW permit.
- (NO AMMUNITION IN CLASS, UNLOADED MAGAZINES)
- Inside the Waiste or Outside the Waiste Holster for your Handgun
- 3 Magazines per handgun
- 1 conceal carry magazine holder (2 magazine pouch)
- Total about 400 rounds of ammunition
- Eye and Ear Protection
- Open Front (Shirt with buttons/zipper on front, or similar set up) AND Closed front Concealed carry garmen

I have Over 30 years of experience in the criminal justice field. I'm a former Staff Sargent, U.S Marine (Infantry and Embassy Duty) and Police Officer!
I ran a Criminal Justice Program for a private college and helped hundreds of individuals to get into Law Enforcement, Security, Corrections, and other public safety careers.
I was a former police officer and have real world street experience. I loved going out on patrol every day, making arrest, doing vehicle stops, investigations, drug testing, and perfecting my officer safety tactics and techniques.
